Senior Year: Academic journey and Career Goals Achieved

Updated: Mar 22

The final year of my college experience! For the great finale, I wanted to become more engaged and involved with events and student activities at my College as previously I was focused on further supplementing my resume. Therefore, I started to volunteer for more activities such as becoming panelist for the First-Generation Student Week, taking the position at Admissions Office as a Student Ambassador to assist with Open Houses and other similar events. Additionally, as I studied abroad in Segovia, Spain, I also became a Student Ambassador for the International Office to share my experience in the summer program. Besides this, I planned to attend more clubs activities and support them while being a mentor for CSTEP and volunteering as an English tutor for ENGin to assist Ukranian students with their English skills. Fall 2023:

  1. Italian Fine Arts: In this course, I dived into the world of Italian art. Although this class, and other Italian class, were independent studies, I was able to visit the Metropolitan Museum with my professor and classmate.

  2. Cults and Conspiracy Theories: The American society has many conspiracy theories and cases of cults which made me wonder how and when do this happen. The class discussions offered me a clear understanding of how to identify cults and why people join them. See my group project for this class here.

  3. Learning & Memory: Major requirement and good learning techniques.

  4. History and Systems of Psych: It was a class based on the history of Psychology.

Spring 2024:

  1. Fundamentals of Public Speaking: I noticed that because of my commitment for this year, public speaking became more significant to me in order to convey a clear, coherent and important message to an audience.

  2. Seminar in Psychology: Morality in cultural perspective: ethics and morality are the center of research, and as a Psychology student, understanding morality and its role from different cultures open the doors to more knowledge and a better attitude to opinions that are not similar to the ones an individual may hold true or sacred.

  3. Industrial Organizational Psychology: Chose this course because I have an interest in human resources, how to maintain a good working environment and a healthy culture in the office.

  4. Italian Film from Neorealism: Love movies, Italian and History. This course combines them all.

  5. Honors Senior Seminar: My personal online portfolio, where I am sharing every detail of my four-year college experience, is the result of my work in this Honor Seminar.
