For this year, during the spring semester I was a Tax prep intern and Spanish translator/interpreter. In the summer, I was a social media manager and research intern for a NYC agency through Public Service Corps at Wall Center, Office of Citywide Health Insurance Assistance (OCHIA). Both of my experiences were eye-opening and professionally rewarding.

Sophomore Fall 2021:

  1. Intro to Entrepreneurship: This was to complete my Bodies of Knowledge (BOK), which are part of the general education program at St. Francis College. This class offered me time to decide whether or not to pursue a second minor in Entrepreneurship and skills that I could apply in the future if I decide to open a business for crochet creations or pastries.

  2. Public Art: This class was remarkable because I love art and am also an honors student. I enjoyed the way it was taught, the organization, the liberty given to the students to complete assignments, develop the final project as well as the tours around the places we were studying on public artworks.

  3. US History 1896 to Present: I enjoy history, but civil history I take it more seriously as it is about the nation. As a good citizen, I believe it is important to know the history of one’s country, the country where a person is living or traveling to. Below is a PowerPoint presentation I did for this course.

  1. Beginning Year Italian I: It was a requirement for my major, but I love learning languages and cultures. So, after this class I decided to minor in Italian.

  2. Introduction to Psychological Research and Recitation: My first exposure to research in Psychology. It is a vital role for any student to get familiar with this, particularly for grad school. Though my group research study did not have significant results, I am glad to have enrolled in this class.

Spring 2022:

  1. Entrepreneur Mkt & Innovation: Because I wanted a double minor, I chose this class. It also fulfilled the requirements for electives. Later on, I realized I preferred to stay with one minor.

  2. Nyc in American Urban Experience: If I could take this course, I would! Not only involved history and art, but I also learned more about the city I was living for 3 years. I never got the chance to meet and experience NYC because of the pandemic, and this changed thanks to this class. Every time there was a tour, a writing assignment was due on what was discussed and learned from the visits. One of these essays I wrote made it to the Terrier Journal, a student magazine at my college that celebrates the talents of the students. See this link, to read my essay "My subway and Me" about my experience as a commuter in the subway of New York and share some of my subway stories. On the website, go to prose and you will see my essay there, and other artworks by my peers.

  3. Independent Study in Italian (Beginning Italian II): Still falling in love with language and I know how much of an asset it is to be a bilingual/polyglot in the workforce.

  4. Statistical Methods in Psych: I was scared of this one because Math is not my department. However, the professor was very supportive, and I finalized this course with joy and wanting to do more statistics as well as to practice my skills with SPSS.

  5. Cross-Cultural Psych/Comm: I liked this class; learning cultures from a psychological perspective was interesting.
